There’s just under two weeks to go before the submission deadline for The Lytham Lives Anthology.
We’re looking for writing that is rooted in Lytham: short stories, poems and pieces of life writing inspired by the town. We would love to receive submissions that focus on school life, family life or working life, or experiences of events and places particular to Lytham. Perhaps even people or places no longer in existence.
It’s free to enter, so dig out that poem you started; breathe some life into the idea you had for a short story; write down that memory before it slips away from you and SEND IT IN TO US!
Make sure you fill out an entry form (available here, at Lytham Library or at ParkView4U Community Centre) and send it with your piece of writing by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or hand a hard copy into the desk at Lytham Library by 5pm Friday 31st May 2013. For further submission guidelines see here.
It is our hope that the final published collection of writings will celebrate the local landscape, as well as presenting personal moments and experiences of Lytham from past and present, and that, when read combined, the chosen pieces of poetry, fiction and life writing will provide a literary snapshot of the town. A tangible legacy for future generations to come.
