We did it! Here’s some pictures from the launch of Lytham Lives: A Community In Writing. Thank you so much to all the contributors, particularly Hilary Pearson for reading her beautiful poem, ‘We of Lytham’ which opens and closes the book; Michael Boddy, who entertained us all with his tales of the Clifton’s and to Jim Cartmell, for allowing us to read his poem ‘Club Day’, a nostalgic look at one of the town’s best loved festival days.
A massive thanks too, to Ruth Brooks-Carter for her beautiful photography and to Jane Brunning who had the difficult job of co-editing and creating the anthology with me on behalf of Park View 4U.
Finally, a huge thanks to Cath Powell and and all at Park View 4U for believing in this project and helping to bring it to fruition. Here’s to preserving and sharing Lytham’s story.
The book is now on sale at £10 and can be purchased from Park View 4 U and Plackitt & Booth Booksellers in Lytham. It’s also available online here and here and as an e-book here.
